Maintenance Workers Tell Teamsters Union “No Thanks”.

In News by americanlabor

After just six days on the campaign, ALG was able to get the Teamsters to withdraw their petition to represent a group of our condo association client’s maintenance & grounds employees. On day one, we were told that 29 out of 30 employees had signed union authorization cards. Six days later, the employees all signed a petition telling the union they wished to cancel the vote and asked the Teamsters to withdraw their petition. A major snowstorm hit Connecticut that week, and instead of throwing in the towel and huddling by the fire, our consultant threw on a pair of boots and gloves and went out plowing and shoveling snow side-by-side with the employees. The consultant really got to know each employee, and earned their respect in a short period of time with good old-fashioned hard work! This was a total victory for our non-profit client.
